On the occasion of the European Year of Volunteering 2011, the ITHAKI Association was founded in Limassol with the support of the KANIKA Group of Companies, a non-profit organization whose purpose is to educate the public on the prevention and treatment of Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia, as well as to contribute to the improvement of existing means and ways of treatment and relief of patients.
The ITHAKI Association was created to offer comforting support to the patient and his/her family in all stages of the disease. The offer of care by specialized individuals and centers, the socialization of patients and the psychosocial and financial contribution to the patient’s family are just some of the goals set by the Association.
It will ensure the improvement of existing means and ways of treating and relieving patients suffering from Alzheimer’s disease, the treatment of the disease and rehabilitation of individuals and the psychosocial support of the patient and the family.
It will also provide residential nursing care and ensure good quality of life to the patient at all stages of the disease.
