Social Services of the Municipality of Nicosia
On the side of every fellow citizen who needs us In the Municipality of Nicosia, we invest a lot in social solidarity policies, supporting in practice those who are in real need.
The local government must implement active policies that will spread a safety net for the city’s residents. Therefore, actions and policies are necessary that will offer support to those who need it and will strengthen social ties, communication between people and social solidarity. As part of our effort to support the most vulnerable residents of the Municipality of Nicosia, we proceeded to establish a non-profit organization, the Versatile Municipal Center of Nicosia.
The main objectives of the Center are to design and offer programs, services and actions for social integration, social care, professional integration and reintegration, lifelong learning and social protection, to all citizens of Nicosia. We have moved very quickly in this direction in recent years. Today, the Municipality of Nicosia through the Multipurpose Municipal Center of Nicosia and with the support of the Social Welfare Services of the Ministry of Labor and Social Insurance, the Ministry of Education, Culture, Youth Sports, European funding and private sponsorships provides quality care, employment and education services to children, infants, toddlers, the elderly, immigrants, single parents, families with many children, families with three children and unemployed parents, using three well-equipped buildings for this purpose.
The services will soon be expanded with three new infrastructures and actions. Our intention is to constantly strengthen this important action of ours so that we are next to our fellow man every day, with sensitivity and real interest.
